Shubman Gill Brokes 13 Major Records: Shubman Gill, the new Test captain of the Indian team, put a record of record on his first foreign tour.

Shubman Gill scored 754 runs in five Tests against England, which holds the record for the most runs in the Test series played between India and England. He overtook Graham Gooch’s record of 752 runs in three matches in the 1990 series.

Shubman Gill’s 754 runs helped him break the record of scoring the most runs in the Test series as the captain of India (732 runs versus West Indies, 1978-79). Only Don Bradman of Australia has scored more runs than Gill in the Test series as captain.

Shubman Gill is the first batsman in Asia to score 700 runs in the Test series played in SENA countries. Earlier, Virat Kohli scored 692 runs in the 2014-15 series in Australia.

Shubman Gill broke Yashasvi Jaiswal’s record of scoring the most runs by Asian batsman in the Test series against England. Shubman Gill broke Mohammad Yusuf’s record of scoring the most runs (631) by Asian batsman in the Test series played in England.

Shubman Gill Don Bradman (1947–48 vs India) and Sunil Gavaskar (1978-79 vs West Indies) became the third captain of the world who scored four centuries in the Test series. Shubman Gill became the first Asian captain to score a double century in a Test match played in SENA countries. Earlier, Tilkaratne Dilshan scored 193 runs against England at Lord’s in 2011.

Shubman Gill scored 430 (269+161) in the second Test, which broke the record of scoring the most runs in the Test match played outside the house. Earlier, Australia’s Mark Taylor scored 426 runs against Pakistan in Peshawar in 1998.

Shubman Gill scored 269 runs in the first innings of the second Test played at Edgbaston, which broke the record of the highest individual score (254 vs South Africa, 2019) in Test as Virat Kohli’s captain.

Shubman Gill became the second captain of the world to score three centuries in the first two Tests. Gill scored 147 runs in the first Test played at Handingley and 269 and 161 runs in two innings of the second Test played in Edgbaston. As the captain of India, in his first two Tests, Kohli scored 115 and 141 runs in Adelaide (December 2014) against Australia and 147 and 46 runs in Sydney (January 2015).

After Gavaskar, Gill became the second captain who scored a century in the first Test and a double century in the second Test. On his Test captaincy debut against New Zealand in 1976, Gavaskar scored 116 runs in Auckland and scored 205 runs in Mumbai against West Indies in the first innings of his second Test.

After Alan Border, Gill became the second player to score 150+ runs in both innings of the Test match. In the Pakistan-Australia Test in 1980, the border in Lahore scored 150 not out in the first innings and 153 runs in the second innings, while Gill scored 269 and 161 runs in two innings of the Birmingham Test.

Shubman Gill became the first Indian (and Asian) captain to win a Test match at Edgbaston.
