West Indies have made Roston Chase captain before the Test series against Australia. He will replace Crag Brathwaite. Who resigned from his post in March earlier this year.

New Delhi. Roston Chase has been appointed as its new Test captain by the West Indies. Barbados-born Chase is right-handed batsman and right-handed off-break bowler. Chase, a length of 6 feet 5 inch (196 cm), is known for his calm behavior on the ground and has been a major player for the West Indies in all formats of the game. Crag Brathwaite resigned from his post in March earlier this year. Now you will take their place.
In 2016, Chase made a test debut. He played the first match against India on 21 July 2016. In the second Test match, he scored a century against an Indian team. Apart from this, he achieved the feat of taking five wickets. He became the fourth player of the West Indies to do so. However, despite this, this test series was won by India.

Roston Chase has played 49 Test matches for the West Indies so far, in which he has scored 2265 runs at an average of 26.33. Which includes five centuries. He has also taken 85 wickets. During a Test match against England in January 2019, Chase performed brilliantly for 60 runs with 8 wickets in the fourth innings. Coach Daran Sammy said in a statement, “Our new captain has earned the honor of his colleagues, he understands the responsibility coming with this role. The team needs to be taken forward now.”
The first challenge before Chase will be the domestic Test series against Australia, which will also be the first match for both teams in the new World Test Championship (WTC) session. This series will start from June 25 which will run till 17 July. Australia have to play a total of 3 Test matches on the West Indies tour. Both teams are yet to be announced. West Indies Joler Warikan has been made the vice-captain of the team.
