New Delhi. Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been included in the ICC Hall of Fame. Now his name has been added to the list of veterans who have been involved in this list. The ICC announced this on Monday. The great wicketkeeper-batsman has now become the 11th player of India to get this honor. Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri praised Dhoni and compared him to his pocket. In a funny manner, he said that his hands were faster than the pocket.

Dhoni stepped into the cricket world as a batsman who was expert in hitting sixes. He was made the captain of India before the first World T20 in 2007, which the team won and started the journey of Dhoni’s captaincy. He won the trophies of three Limited Over Tournament of ICC. It consists of 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. He is the only captain to do so.

Dhoni’s most special thing was his calm nature. He rarely losing his temper on the field. Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri says that he never saw a calm player like Dhoni. “I never saw anyone calm as him. Nothing changes for him. They are out at zero, win the World Cup, make a century, everything is the same. The double century, this player doesn’t matter. It does not matter to this player.

Dhoni’s sharp glovework often caught attention, which surprised the batsmen. Shastri jokingly said to Ian Bishop, “His (Dhoni) hands were faster than a pocket.

Dhoni said that his name is a great honor to join the list of great players. “It is an honor to be nominated in the ICC Hall of Fame, which recognizes the contribution of generations and cricketers from all over the world. Remembering your name with such great players is a wonderful experience. This is something that I will always cherish.”
