New DelhiShreyas Iyer is leading Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 and on Sunday (June 1), he chased the Punjab franchise a target of over 200 runs against Mumbai Indians. His team has created history with this magnificent chase. Punjab Kings have become the first team in the world to chase the most runs against Mumbai. Since the formation of Mumbai Indians in 2008, no team managed to win the match on crossing the 200 runs against them.
During the qualifier 2 of IPL 2025, Shreyas Iyer came to bat at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, chasing a target of 204 runs and scored 87 runs off 41 balls. While staying at the crease, he hit five fours and eight sixes. He is also the first and only captain to qualify for the IPL final with two different teams.

Iyer’s brilliant performance in batting helped Panzab Kings qualify for the IPL 2025 final and right-handed batsman also became the first captain in the world to lead three different teams in the IPL final. Under the captaincy of Iyer, Delhi Capitals made it to the finals in 2020, Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024 and PBKS in 2025.
