Captain Harmanpreet Kaur is sure that this time the Indian women’s team will win the World Cup. Harmanpreet Kaur said at the unveiling ceremony of the ODI World Cup Trophy, ‘We want to break the myth which all Indians are waiting for. World Cup is always special. I always want to do something special for my country. Whenever I see Yuvi Bhaiya (Yuvraj Singh), I get a lot of inspiration. Former Indian all -rounder Yuvraj Singh and fellow of Harmanpreet’s team were also present on the occasion.
The recent performance of the Indian team has been very good. He won the T20 and ODI series during the England tour. The Indian team will play a home series of three ODIs against Australia before the World Cup starting on 30 September. Harmanpreet said that this will give his team a chance to test himself. This series of women’s teams of India and Australia will be played from 14 September.
Harmanpreet won his team by playing a strong innings of 171 runs in the semi -finals against Australia in 2017. The memories of that innings are still fresh in his mind. He said, ‘That innings was really special for me and women’s cricket. After that innings, a lot changed for me. We may have lost in the finals, but when we returned, many people were waiting for us and were increasing our enthusiasm. I still get thrilled by remembering her today.
